SKOPT (Some Kind of Poetry Thing) October Meeting

On Wednesday, I went to the monthly meeting of SKOPT (Some Kind of Poetry Thing) at Slack Space, Colchester.

Over 20 people turned up this month, which was fantastic.  It's great to see so many fantastic poets coming along to share their work.  Last night's poems were wide ranging and interesting, particularly bearing in mind we had been writing from the words 'serendipity', 'drift' and 'loganberry'.  A random selection, indeed.  I thought everyone applied an impressive amount of creativity in employing these words.  I managed to produce a poem about my favourite poet - Wilfred Owen, which included all three words.

The next meeting takes place on November 6th.  The words for the poems are as follows:  Weeping Angels, Grace, Cleavage.  That should produce an interesting selection of poems!  Come along if you are interested in poetry or if you write it.  You will have a great time.
